John is Chief Investment Officer of Kingsbury & Partners and Chair of its Credit Committee. He brings a decade of financial services experience and a regulated background.
Originally from Leeds, United Kingdom, John began his career as an apprentice at KPMG. A part-qualified accountant and a Member of the AAT, he spent more than five years in KPMG’s Deal Advisory practice, assisting large-cap financial services firms with debt capital markets, structured finance and asset-backed securities. His experience spans both buy-side and sell-side transactions, and he applies rigorous due diligence and financial analysis to identify the most effective routes to market.
He then took a senior role in the treasury team of a FTSE 250 listed bank headquartered in London, overseeing the bank’s balance sheet and leading the funding and capital markets team. Over three years at an FCA-regulated bank, he led capital raises exceeding £850 million and was responsible for a total funding portfolio exceeding £2 billion, building relationships with both retail and institutional investors.
Today he leads the origination, due diligence and structuring behind every facility the firm invests in.
